more cheats

great game, very smooth, but i wish the resolution was better and YOU NEED ALL OF THE CHEATS!! it seems to me that only about 70% of the PC cheats were put on the Mac version. very dissapointing. please change!

GTAVC is the definition of gang games

The Playstation 2 and Xbox classic title Grand Theft Auto 3 just got even better! With new vehicles,New weapons, and your in the 80s! I remember picking up this game for my Xbox and staying up until 5:00 am playing because there is so much to see and so much to do! You get to let prostitutes bang you then beat them up and take your money back! The Mac version is a complete success for using the Macbook and iMacs graphics card. If GTA IV comes out on the Mac then I am totally my Xbox 360 version and buying this one.

The real South Florida!

Growing up in Fort Lauderdale was a real trip. And, GTA Vice City really captures the time and the place. It has been as much fun to just explore everything, as it has been in playing the game itself. Maybe even more fun, because it all looks so familiar and brings back so many great memories. Motorcycles, beach buggies, boats, float planes and helicopters ... Wow! Exploring has never been so much fun. And, theres so much more to see! Ive "finished" the game, but Im still discovering new things every time I visit GTAs marvelous South Florida "Vice City". An incredible achievement! A big thanks to Rockstar and everyone else responsible for creating this wonderful game. And, for bringing it to the Mac!

Beware. Great Game, but not on mac from the app store

The game is fantastic, well made like every other rockstar game. The problem is the glitches with the app store version. During every scene there is an obnoxious screeching noise coming from the left speaker the whole time. You have to skip the scenes because it becomes extremely annoying. so good luck trying to understand the story line with out any background. Also every time i run it my mac gets super hot. i mean almost too hot to touch. its ridiculous. The game was made in like 2000, pretty sure my brand new core i7 macbook pro isnt having any difficulties running this simple program, so why does it get so hot? Like i said, fantastic game play and story ( i assume) but the glitches make it almost unplayable. I wouldnt buy it without an update, knowing what i know now. DO NOT BUY UNLESS UPDATED!

targeting doesnt work for me

I love this game but had to give it 1 star ONLY so hopefully its seen and update is given or something…. this game wont allow me to target on anyone, ever. No matter if I use the keyboard or a plug in controller, or an xbox controller with driver; the game doesnt allow me to target, rendering it almost impossible to play most missions or just have fun with it. Please fix this.

Good game

This is a good game. However there are a couple ways it falls short compared to GTA San Andreas. First, there are also a couple of annoying things about this game. When you have a high wanted level, all pedestrian cars will seem to have disapeared. This is extremely annoying especially when youre on a mission where you have a high wanted level and need to car jack someone because your other car got destroyed. There are also not the same extras as San Andreas. In SA, you can work out to make C.J. more buff, you can buy different clothes, get a haircut, and get tattoos. VC has none of this. Also, the map is HUGE on San Andreas, with a lot more places to go and more stuff to do. San Andreas is also much longer and has waaaay more missions to complete. I also think C.J. is a better main character than Tommy. I like Tommy, but C.J. is awesome. I like this game, but if youre choosing between the two, San Andreas is better.

sounds problem

I have some sound issues. during cut scenes there is some weird noises. when i close aplication it seems to stop. anyone have ideas how to fix it?

Its Fun

This is the first time I ever played GTA and I enjoyed playing it on my Macbook Pro (10.6.8). Its runs perfectly with no glitches and the graphics are pretty decent. Worth the price - $4.99.

Michael Jackson songs removed in this update

What a bummer! Due to licensing issues, Rockstars "bug fix" also removed a handful of songs.

bug fix

considering this update removes songs, i hope the bug fixes are actually worthwhile, otherwise i have an archive of the previous version which ill revert back to, or just copy the necesary song files to the right directories

Not Worth it

I just got it and i havent played much but the controls are annoying and the graphics are worse. I would definatly buy it for a dollar or two but not ten.

Some people

Why are people complaining about the graphics. This isnt a pc game, its a port from the PS2. The graphics are not why you should be playing this game, its for the gameplay and memories from 10 years ago:)

What bugs?

Id keep the original version if I were you.

Game does not work!!!

The game loads with the first cut scene but then it gets stuck right before you can start playing. There is also a no sound issue with the game. Im using Macbook Pro Retina 15".

Perfect, but Pleas add the Cloud-Save-Slot from the iOS Version

Hello Rockstar! This was your best GTA to date! I really like the good old times back then when i used to play this for houers. Thank you! It its Perfect in anyway just as i was used to know it back in the days. ONLY ONE THING TO ADD! I would really like to see the iCloud-Save-Slot you build into the iOS Version! It would be awesome to play the same Savegame i have on my iPad, and Vice-Versa. Thank you!

new update is bad

after new update buttons W, S,A,D are NOT working Its not really comfortable to play

Excellent port but why the silly update?

I played this game when it first came out in 2002 and I absolutley adored it. The story was intriguing and able to challenge the complexity of many Hollywood movies. The graphics were excellent for the times and I often had to reduce the resolution in order to be able to complete the more advanced missions. This, of course, is not a problem today as the computers are more advanced, however, it speaks more to the effort the developers put into making the game pretty and worth while. The theme, the 1980s, is also very interesting and the developers really did a great job making the theme fitting with the story line. Now to the boring parts more specific to the Macintosh port. The port at first was almost flawless, creating support for HD graphics (such as my Macs 1920x1200 screen), and content. However, with the new update, 1.01, they removed a lot of the music because of what can only be described as copyright reasons. So by buying a legal copy of the game, you are not allowed to have all the music, which is a shame. I can only ask why? The other thing is that in the PC version, the developers allowed the player to use its own music in the game by copying the MP3s into a specific folder. Why could not this feature have been transferred and integrated with iTunes? It seems that would be a perfect way to incorporate the specifics of OS X into the game. I really would like to give the game four stars as opposed to five because of the above stated problems. But since it does not really affect the gameplay as such, and because it would be unfair to the port, I feel the game deserves full score. I really recommend this game to anyone who appreciated the gameplay of the first two top-view games, and the 3D universe of GTA III.

worst game ever

i got a error and it crashed and wiped out my hard drive

Great Game, One Problem

Dont get me wrong i love this game, but the only problem i have with it is it lags on my macbook big time and im not finding any solutions. id really appreciate some help or support or something to help fix the problem.

Another vote for iCloud PLEASE

I love how the iOS version supports iCloud, but lets not stop there! Rockstar, please add iCloud support to the Mac version so gamers can enjoy the ultimate convenience of continuing our save progress regardless of device. I am huge supporter of iCloud enabled games, so this is all thats missing of an otherwise classic title.
